An invitation...

God desires for each of us to be a carbon copy; an imitator; a replica of His son, Jesus. Being a follower of Jesus means that we adopt the teachings, values and lifestyle of Jesus and make other disciples. We replicate Jesus in our own lives and we help others replicate Jesus in their lives.

Here is the problem… We all struggle with confirmation bias. If you're like most people, you feel that your convictions are rational, logical, and impartial, based on the result of years of experience and objective analysis of the information you have available. In reality, all of us are susceptible to “confirmation bias”. Our beliefs are often based on paying attention to the information that upholds them—while at the same time tending to ignore the information that challenges them.

For each of us, God wants our minds (and our hearts) to be permanently changed.

Jesus challenged everyone He met to think, feel and see all types of experiences differently.

Mark 1:16-18 (NLT)… 16 One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. 17 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” 18 And they left their nets at once and followed him.

Jesus was looking for and still is looking for “open-minded, soft-hearted, willing and available, action-oriented people to drop what they are doing, put their trust in Him and follow his lead.

Jesus uses all kinds of personality types as “replicas”; disciples, to do His work in the world, for the growth and advancement of His Kingdom.

We all have been given an invitation to RESPOND to Jesus; an invitation to…

  1. Take God at His Word; learn to trust Him.

  2. Change your mind (turn around) and believe in some “good news”.

  3. Become more than what you are… more than what you think you are, or are capable of on your own.

  4. Respond and do it now, leaving your “stuff/baggage” behind.

In this season of your life, Jesus offers you an invitation; a chance to respond… change your mind, open your heart, and your feet will follow!
