Too Young Gone

Today, August 16 is the 30th anniversary of the tragic death of Mark Heard, one of the greatest Christian singer/songwriter you've probably never "Heard" of (pun intended! Ironic his last name was heard and literally very few people who listen to Christian music know of him.) He recorded 16 albums and 90 of his songs were never recorded/released. He had a heart attack during a concert at the Cornerstone Festival in Chicago, Illinois, finished the concert and then went to the hospital. Made it home to his wife before passing away from a second heart attack 6 weeks later.

In memory of Mark Heard, for those who loved his music and were blessed by his song writing…

Lyrics to the song, “All”… Written by Mark Heard © 1975

Lord, what can I say to You that's not been said in times past

I see You darkly through a glass again And I can't think of no way new To sing about Your kindness

When hymns are prayers You hear the last “Amen"

Jesus, Precious Savior

I have prayed it all before Won't You hear me Won't You heal me Won't You help me love You more

If there's a million melodies And time enough to sing them I know they'd never be sufficient praise

And I've a million less than these And fewer words to bring them And all that I can do is ask Your Grace

Jesus, Precious Savior

I have prayed it all before Won't You hear me Won't You heal me Won't You help me love You more
